Such a good question! I would love to share with you a bit of my journey of how I came to this decision to do missions full time.
My journey started before my time. My parents were involved in YWAM before I was born and were on the mission field for several years, their willingness to lay down their lives for the gospel left a mark on my heart since as long as i can remember. They first paved the way for me to see life in full time missions as a possibility. I grew up reading missionary stories and praying for those on the mission field as a family. I am deeply grateful for them.
For the past few years since my DTS I have been burdened knowing that there are still so many who don’t know Jesus and not only who don’t know him but don’t have access to the bible or discipleship because nobody has even gone to them. Currently there are over 2 billion people in the world who has never met a Christian nevermind the billions of people who know Christian’s but don’t know God because they don’t know the bible or haven’t been intentionally discipled. I want to be apart of bringing down this number.
I saw while studying the Bible in SBS that Gods heart since the beginning of time was for all the people of the world to know him and there are many that do not know him yet. I saw the great commission/a call to go to those who don’t know not just in Matthew 28 but from Genesis to Revelation. The bible gave me my why and that is the most solid evidence/confirmation that i needed.
